Being Different is a Gift

Imagine being that person that has to be held back from their dreams because they’re too smart, they’re above an average person, and they’re the people that others want to be. In the short story “Harrison Bergeron” by Kurt Vonnegut jr., a perfect of example of injustice is found; it's unfair for people in power to take advantage of others.
Taking someone’s rights away is wrong. In this short story, people who were smarter had to have a device in there ear that made a noise every 20 seconds to interrupt their train of thought. This was done so that all people would be the same and be able to all think the same. When they did this it was so wrong in so many ways; they are trying to hold someone back from their dreams. Besides the fact that the Handicapper General was a lot smarter than the average person and what did she not have? An ear piece. She thinks that she does not need one because she is the leader.
When having this much unjust treatment, the world becomes a boring place because everyone is the same; nothing new or interesting comes through this way of life. It is just human nature to strive to be a better person; however this story is taking that out of the picture. In some ways schools do this to kids that are smarter than the rest. The kids get board in class because they already know what they are learning so they shout out the answers and make a scene. Then the teachers send they out and the kind gets in trouble.

It’s unfair to take the gifted and try to make them normal, unfair to take away their rights that they have as humans, and unfair to take away the power of their dreams. Dreams are what make us strive to be better people and that should never ever be taken away from anyone.

The year was 2081,there was an earthquake that shook the world and made it tremble. This earthquake was the end of all, all living, and all died. The world was over, over I say i am the only one here i think die like they rest of the world and everything on it. However here i am alone with no one the talk but the dirt, and the dirt does not really talk back.

Having the Power and not Knowing what to do with it

You’re sitting there watching your sister throwing up blood, in pain and she is trying to act like she is okay and nothing is wrong. However she is the exact opposite and no one else knows what is going on but you. You are the girl that can help her; you are the girl that knows everything about her; you are the girl that can change her life but you can’t tell anyone else.

In the book My Sister’s Keeper by Jodi Picoult, there is a young girl named Anna. This girl has all the power in the world to make a change and also knows things that no one else knows about. If knowing something that no one else knows that can way very heavy on your heart and cause you to go to extremes. In this book Anna had an older sister named Kate and she had a very horrible disease and wanted to die. Yes, Anna is the only on that knows that her sister wanted to die but she is scared that her mom or dad. Anna is that girl that can take Kate out of her misery and pain but she is to scared, scared of life, scared of herself.

This girl needs to get a grip on reality and learn what is right and what is wrong. This secret would not have been a good one to keep to yourself, when it was about someone’s life. This is kind of like a psychiatrist; you have to sit there and listen to all their problems, the emotions and their feelings. You also have to keep what they tell you quite because they trust you not to go around and tell everyone. However the second that is involves someone’s life you have to tell.

There you are the girl that knows something that could make her life so much better; there you are the girl that could be the difference between life and death; there you are the girl that can. You can only keep a secret for so many reasons until to involves someone’s life.

Speeding

Driving in the car down the road and what do we hear: The sirens of a police car. In that second my mom pulls over and says some not very nice words. Besides that fact that she just got pulled over for speeding we were on the way to pick up my grandma from the hospital because she just got let go. However even though my mom has not had a ticket in 10 years she still got a ticket and off we went.

Besides the fact that I was in the passenger’s seat when that exciting experience, my mom decide that I need to come to court with her to lower her points off of her license or lower her fine. Well obviously a normal teenager said "NO" until she decides to bribe me with gum. Right then, Right there I had to make a decision “Go with her and get gum or not go and be lazy and not get gum." Well I am the kind of person that LOVES gum. So I went. This was one of the worst decisions ever because we were one of the last ones to get there. Which means that we had to wait a long time to go and that was a hour and 1/2 of silence and if you were not you got kicked out also no phones, no NOTHING!!! So when we got out and got to the ticket booth, I said “Mom that was the longest time that I have been awake and not talked." The lady behind the desk laughed at me and so did my mom; she said "that is probably true."

Fun times

Sitting on the couch giggling all the times. Thinking and wondering about what our lives will be like together. Also whenever we get together we are always talking about boys! Sometimes when we are calmed down and we can sit down and relax. However most of time we are crazy. For example sitting in dairy queen eating ice cream texting my moomy and annoying her. There are many more wonderful times together.
